Awesome place to go visit with a lot of history and well worth the 3.5 hour drive I had to make. Will definitely make the trip again. Being able to go inside a WWII sub is pretty cool.
The museum itself is a nice place to visit, although the facilities are somewhat dated. The WWII submarine Batfish is an incredible machine - extremely interesting.
One of the most awesome places to visit. They have done a masterful job on the ship. Also the history of the ship as well and the fact you can go inside it that much better. Even if you struggle with tight spaces like I do it is worth it. The museum is very nice too. Also they have a awesome gift shop for all price ranges. I would highly recommend a submarine pen...... they rock!
One of my favorite family adventures yet! My kids loved climbing on all of the machinery outside, and it was so much fun going through the submarine! There is a lot of climbing (stairs, narrow doorways, etc) so it is not handicapped accessible. The grounds are well-maintained and the opportunity to learn a little piece of history is priceless. There are restrooms in the building, and a cute little gift shop.
